HYPNOTHERAPY
Hypnosis is a
state of consciousness in which a person loses the power of voluntary action
and is highly responsive to suggestion and direction. Hypnotherapy attempts to
recover suppressed memories in an individual’s subconscious mind. Once these
memories are accessed and purged, healing occurs.
During a typical
Hypnotherapy session, an individual is in a deeply relaxed state, but not
asleep. Hypnotherapists use guided imagery and suggestions to lead the
individual into an altered state of consciousness. It can be compared to
daydreaming.
Altered states
of consciousness have been recognized and used for thousands of years to manage
stress, depression, fear and other emotional problems which impair normal
functions of everyday life. These emotional problems often manifest in physical
symptoms.
It has been
proven by the leading scientists that stress is at the root of most disease.
Stress reduces the immune system, thereby leaving the body vulnerable to
sickness. Hypnotherapy is an effective tool to treat stress. Once the stress is
reduced, the body’s defenses spring to action and healing begins.
Hypnotherapists
often combine hypnosis, psychotherapy and counseling techniques to get to the
bottom of the problem and then treat it. Sometimes the present issues are
related to memories embedded in distant past.
Step by step, an
individual is guided to the realm of the super conscious. As we connect with
our true selves we find out why certain events are taking place, and why
certain individuals enter our lives. As the memories surface, fears, anxieties
and anger issues begin to fade allowing us to heal.
